Fudan University International Undergraduate Application

Application Eligibility:

1. Basic Requirements:

(1) Non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport.

(2) Graduated from senior high school or above, and eligible for university application.

(3) In good physical and mental health, with no criminal record.

2. Nationality Requirements:

In accordance with the *Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China* and the relevant provisions of the document *Jiao Wai Han [2020] No. 12* issued by the Ministry of Education of China:

(1) For applicants born outside of China who acquired foreign nationality at birth: the applicant's parent(s) (the Chinese citizen side) must have obtained permanent residency abroad before the applicant's birth; and the applicant must have a record of actual residence abroad for more than two years between May 1, 2022 and April 30, 2026 (a year is calculated from May 1 to April 30 of the following year; actual residence abroad for nine months or more in a year may be counted as one year, based on entry and exit stamps).

(2) For applicants who were formerly Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality: the applicant must have acquired foreign nationality before May 1, 2022, and completed the procedure for renouncing Chinese nationality; and must have a record of actual residence abroad for more than two years between May 1, 2022 and April 30, 2026 (a year is calculated from May 1 to April 30 of the following year; actual residence abroad for nine months or more in a year may be counted as one year, based on entry and exit stamps).

**Application Material Requirements:**

1. Bio-data page of a valid ordinary passport. The passport must be valid until March 1, 2027 or later.

2. Senior high school graduation certificate. Graduating students must submit an original certificate of expected graduation issued by their school. Versions in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation.

3. Transcripts of all courses completed during senior high school. Versions in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation.

4. Original score report of the "Chinese Government Scholarships Admission Test for Undergraduate Studies" (CSCA Test) administered by the Ministry of Education of China.

5. Chinese proficiency certificate. HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above, or HSK Level 6 with a score of 180 or above (if available).

6. *Guardian Guarantee Letter*. Applicants who will be under 18 years of age as of September 1, 2026 must submit this document. The guardian must be an adult residing in mainland China with a source of income.

7. Nationality certification materials.

(1) For applicants born outside of China who acquired foreign nationality at birth, the following must be submitted:

1) Proof that the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth;

2) Proof that the applicant's parent(s) (the Chinese citizen side) had obtained permanent residency abroad before the applicant's birth;

3) All visas, residence permits, and entry and exit records between China and other countries from the applicant's first passport onward;

(2) For applicants who were formerly Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality, the following must be submitted:

1) *Certificate of Renunciation of the Nationality of the People's Republic of China*;

2) Certificate of cancellation of Chinese household registration;

3) Proof of acquisition of foreign nationality;

4) All visas, residence permits, and entry and exit records between China and other countries from the applicant's first foreign passport onward;

Note: Applicants who have previously held a *Travel Document of the People's Republic of China* or an *Exit and Entry Permit of the People's Republic of China* must provide the corresponding materials in accordance with item (2) above.

8. Certificate of no criminal record.

9. Proof of personal financial capacity or financial guarantee. If financial support is provided by another person, please complete the *Fudan University International Student Financial Guarantee Form* and submit the corresponding materials.

10. Other documents. Award certificates, published papers, and other documents that can demonstrate academic ability and comprehensive qualities.

Fudan University Graduate Application

Application Requirements:

1. Non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport.

2. In good physical and mental health, with no criminal record.

3. Applicants for master's programs must hold a bachelor's degree or above.

4. Chinese language proficiency must meet the following standards:

Humanities and Social Sciences: HSK Level 5 with a score of 240 or above, or Level 6 with a score of 189 or above

Science, Engineering, and Medicine: HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above, or Level 6 with a score of 180 or above

Note: If the language of instruction during the applicant's previous degree program was Chinese, the applicant may apply for exemption from submitting a Chinese proficiency certificate.

**Application Material Requirements:**

1. Bio-data page of a valid ordinary passport. The passport must be valid until March 1, 2027 or later.

2. Highest academic degree certificate or diploma. Graduating students must submit an original certificate of expected graduation issued by their school. Versions in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation.

3. Official transcripts of all courses completed during the highest degree program. Versions in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation.

4. Two letters of recommendation. The letters must be original documents in Chinese or English written by a professor or associate professor (and must bear the recommender's own signature). During the application, the student may upload the letters themselves, or choose to "send a link to the recommender to fill out the recommendation letter," allowing the recommender to complete the letter online.

5. Chinese proficiency certificate. HSK certificate and score report.

6. *Certificate of No Criminal Record*.

7. Proof of personal financial capacity or financial guarantee. If financial support is provided by another person, please complete the *Fudan University International Student Financial Guarantee Form* (click the file name to download) and submit the corresponding materials.

8. Applicants for scholarships must also provide the *Foreigner Physical Examination Form* (click the file name to download). The original is required, and it must be in Chinese or English. The physical examination results are valid for six months. Applicants currently residing in mainland China who hold a valid "Foreigner's Residence Permit" or a "Foreigner's Permanent Residence Identity Card" may use either of these two documents in lieu of the *Foreigner Physical Examination Form*.

9. Other documents. Award certificates, published papers, and other documents that can demonstrate academic ability and comprehensive qualities.

10. Applicants who have previously held a *Travel Document of the People's Republic of China* or an *Exit and Entry Permit of the People's Republic of China* must submit the *Certificate of Renunciation of the Nationality of the People's Republic of China*.
